The console added the finishing touches to what was missing from the PSP. The screen has better fidelity, the graphics are more than adequate for a handheld, and the controls are excellent. It has limited online multiplayer abilities, and an ability to download digital-released games. The button feel, and joystick precision are top-notch for a handheld. The sound also made a significant jump in quality and volume. it was able to play 3-5 hours before recharging. Possibly the pinnacle of handheld gaming. It has enough good games, and combined with Sony-quality everywhere, it is an unmatched interface. A handheld worth owning, not just revisiting. Despite having better games than the PlayStation 3 and a dedicated fanbase, sales were still abysmal. For racing simulators, and Japanese RPG’s, this handheld really stands out. The handheld was the last handheld that did not run PC games. Leaving it with a lightweight operating system, mobile processor, low-power draw, low heat, excellent battery life, and games that are not bloated in size and excessive hardware requirements. It was unfortunately the end of an era for handheld gaming.
